II. Duisburg, na Alemanha: 19 vítimas mortais e centenas de feridos e a morte do “Techno Parade” ou “Love Parade” ( 1989-2010)
A "Love Parade", “biggest dance festival of the world” , dominado pela música techno, realizou-se pela primeira vez em Berlim, em 1989, com um desfile de escassa centena e meia de "ravers" que proclamaram o lema "música é amor", baptizando assim o evento.
“The Love Parade began life as something of a political movement way back in the summer of '89, and four months before the fall of the Berlin Wall. It was organised on the initiative of Matthias Roeingh, aka "Dr. Motte", a DJ of the Berlin underground scene who wanted to use the international language of music as a medium for spreading peace and love, and promoting world unity. In his words: "Music knows no boundaries or nationalities." O desfile realizou-se em Berlim, até 2003 e ainda em 2006, tornando-se um “grande acontecimento de massas”. Um conflito entre os organizadores e a autarquia berlinense levou o festival para o Ruhr. Em 2007, a "Love Parade" juntou 1,2 milhões de pessoas em Essen e, em 2008, 1,6 milhões em Dortmund. Em 2009 não se realizou devido ao “small space of the Bochum main station” .
No próximo ano, Gelsenkirchen deveria ser o palco da "Love Parade". No entanto, os organizadores já anunciaram o fim definitivo do festival techno, "por respeito pelas vítimas" dos trágicos acontecimentos de sábado, em Duisburgo. [www.pdarcey.com]
